It is both and honour and a privilege for me to be able to celebrate with you this great milestone in the history of our parish! And while it is important for us to reflect and give thanks for the one hundred year history that is now behind us, it is also important for us to look forward to the future, as this is not the end of the journey but merely a point on the journey.
As we begin the second century of the life of our parish, may we continue to faithfully hand on the faith we ourselves have received to our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. May the Good News of Jesus Christ continue to enliven our hearts as we continue to spread the joy of the Gospel within Cold Lake and throughout the world!
Although it saddens me that I will not be able to continue this remarkable journey with you at this time, I have great hopes for the future of our parish and the future of the Catholic community in Cold Lake as a whole. It is my prayer that all of you will continue to grow stronger as a community of faith, striving to continuously overcome the issues that threaten to divide us, so that in 2115 a future generation can celebrate our bi-centennial continuing to build upon the foundation we and many others have helped to establish.
