As many of you are aware that I have been working on my Bachelor in Theology for the last three years and happy to say that I will be finished on June10. Back in October I sent a letter to Bishop Paul and asked him if there was a place for me to work within our diocese. He recommended that I contact Fr. Andrew in Fort McMurray. I went to see Fr. Andrew in April. After the visit I began to discern if this is the place where I am called to minister and after much prayer I have decided to take a position with Fr. Andrew (St. John the Baptist Catholic Church) and Holy Trinity School. When the fire situation happened on May 3 and everyone evacuated, I realized even more that I needed to go where I could do the most good and I do believe that God has called me to minister in Fort McMurray. I will begin in September.
I have really enjoyed my ministry in Cold Lake during the time that I have been the youth
coordinator. I have learned a lot about myself as a minister and as a person. I have also loved getting to know all the youth and watching them grow and develop their faith over the years. I will miss them all.
I would like to invite all the youth who have attended youth group in the past six years and their families to a wind up Family BBQ. It will be held on Sunday June 12 beginning at 11:30 am in the St. Dominic Parish Centre. I would really appreciate your attendance. It will give the youth and
myself a chance to say good bye to each other. I have developed a wonderful relationship them.
Hotdogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provided. Please bring a salad and a dessert to share.
Please RSVP to me by June 8, 2016 by phone/text @ (780) 996-9167 or email
[email protected] or contact the parish office @ (780)639-3245 or [email protected]
May our Lord bless each and every youth in our parish to help them to continue to grow in love with our Lord! I will be praying for them! May I ask that you also pray for me in my new positions! It will be a new adventure for me. St. Dominic Parish has been a great home for a long time and I will miss everyone! May God bless you all!
